🚀 Today’s Wins: Building the Foundation for Journey Beyond Barriers

Today was one of those days where progress felt tangible—and exciting.

I started by confirming that our Stripe account is officially connected to Give Lively, which means Journey Beyond Barriers is now ready to accept donations. I even ran a test donation (yes, I paid the fees!) and watched that first $5 roll in. It may be a small amount, but it represents something huge: the beginning of a movement to bring joyful, accessible transportation to mobility-challenged individuals across Oregon.

I also linked our KeyBank account to Stripe, ensuring that future donations will go directly into our nonprofit’s account. There was a moment of confusion when I saw a fee deducted—even though I opted to cover it—but I learned that Stripe’s processing structure is a bit more complex. And once our nonprofit discount kicks in, those fees will shrink, making every dollar stretch further.

On the website side, I refined our contact form to make it more welcoming for volunteers and curious visitors. I also started shaping the “Where We Serve” section, highlighting our roots in the Willamette Valley and our vision to expand statewide. I even reached out to my friends at ODOT GIS to explore building an interactive map that showcases our trips and service areas—something I’m really excited about.

It’s amazing how much can happen in a single day when you’re building something you believe in. Journey Beyond Barriers is growing, step by step, and I’m so grateful for the support, the learning, and the little victories that keep me moving forward.
